I grew up in Anchorage Alaska. Playing hockey was my main interest for 18 years . In 2000 I got interested in snowboarding which led me into the back country where we started using the snowmobiles for transportation. At first I hated them. I got stuck a lot and didn't under stand pow turn concept. I just had other people give me a ride up the mountain. That summer I got a YZ125 and started riding at the local track. The following winter I decided to learn how to ride the sled before I rode my snowboard. Once I figured it out I was hooked. First I started hitting the same drops and step down style hits I would on a snowboard.
